Ron and Lori Thompson
On August 20, 2015, The District Eight Baptist Convention called Bro. Ron Thompson to serve as the Coordinator of Missions and Ministries to be effective upon Bro. Lee Dickson's retirement on October 1, 2015. Bro. Ron is married to Lori and has five daughters.
Bro. Ron graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX; earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX; and completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2014. He has served three churches as pastor (one bivocationally) as well as GuideStone Financial Resources of the SBC before coming to serve as the Assistant to the Coordinator of Missions and Ministries in 2011.
Also a Baylor graduate, Lori has a background in education, sales, and ministry. On December 1, she transitioned from serving as the secretary at Fairview Baptist Church to the Administrative Assistant at the District Eight Missions Office. Both Ron and Lori have a heart for missions and ministry and have been blessed to serve on short term mission trips here and abroad. When they aren’t chasing after five daughters, you may also find them cheering on the Baylor Bears or the Texas Rangers, or find them enjoying the great outdoors.
Ron and Lori believe they are living unique lives demonstrating God’s grace. After crossing paths in college and dating for a short time thereafter, they went separate ways. Eighteen years later, following heartache for Ron and a long season of waiting for Lori, God united their paths and they were married in 2013.

However, ministry needs across the District Area often cause us to stay later, and sometimes, arrive earlier. But on other occasions, we might not be there at all.
Much of our ministry takes place away from the office location. It is often better to call ahead, and we will do our best to accommodate YOUR schedule.
